Hampton has written two books: The Business of Audio Engineering and So, You’re An Audio Engineer. These books provide insider knowledge on how to manage an audio engineering career. Topics include attracting clients and keeping them; hiring studios and working on your own; dealing with problem artists, producers, and labels; handling a crisis and keeping one from happening; and getting paid what you’re worth. His current book is distributed by Hal Leonard.
